THUNDERSTONE To Support SONATA ARCTICA In Finland

September 24, 2007

Finnish melodic power metallers THUNDERSTONE will support SONATA ARCTICA on a four gig mini-tour of Finland between Christmas and New Year's Eve. The dates are as follows:

Dec. 27 - Teatria – Oulu, FIN
Dec. 29 - Kaapelitehdas - Helsinki, FIN
Dec. 30 - Metroauto Areena - Tampere, FIN
Dec. 31 - Jäähalli - Mikkeli, FIN

In Oulu and Mikkeli, the vocal duties will be handled by the group's fill-in singer, Tuple Salminen (TAROT),while in Helsinki and Tampere fans will get the last chance to witness THUNDERSTONE on stage with the original lineup, featuring Pasi Rantanen on vocals.

Commented guitarist Nino Laurenne: "It's great to close one chapter of THUNDERSTONE with these two Christmas gigs and show people that there is no animosity between us. We are looking forward to a bright future with the new members, whoever they turn out to be in the end."

THUNDERSTONE's video for the song "Face in the Mirror" can be viewed below. The track comes off the group's fourth studio album, "Evolution 4.0", which was released this past March. According to the band, the CD is "a milestone, bringing in more of the heavier stuff that 'Tools of Destruction' already hinted at, but still retaining the landmark melodies of THUNDERSTONE. That's why we thought the title 'Evolution 4.0' best represents where we now stand."

THUNDERSTONE came in second in the competition to represent the host country, Finland, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. Rantanen, who sang those high notes in LORDI's "Hard Rock Hallelujah" on stage at last year's Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, is a close friend of LORDI leader Mr. Lordi.
